Freshman Ron Mercer was perhaps themost important player as he came off the bench and sparked the Cats with twentypoints. Derek Anderson and Mark Pope made key playsin the closing minutes to seal the victory. Senior Tony Delk came away with Most Outstanding Playerhonors after tying a NCAA record for hittingseven three-point shots in the game.
